The Place Internationale urban laboratory examines historical, contemporary, and future insurrections, as it tries out communal action. This special programme frames the FFT’s first season at its new KAP1 location. The urban and social Paris Commune revolution of 1871 will serve as the starting point. Artists, activists, and theoreticians will also gather for the concluding four-week part within the programme. They are going to develop installations, performances, and discursive spaces, turning the city into a stage, opening a sound recording studio to capture the commune’s tones as they are going to issue invitations to participate in workshops on feminist practices and practices on critiquing racism, in excursions into the Ruhr Area, in talks about image politics, and in the design of communal (urban) spaces.
