MOONSTRUCK

Following „no apocalypse not now“, MOONSTRUCK: in praise of shadows is the most current stage production by the artist group around Israeli director Ariel Efraim Ashbel who knows how to connect the conceptual with the sensational in surprising ways. This time, elements from the blockbuster “Moonstruck” (1987) collide with “In Praise of Shadows” by Japanese author Jun’ichirō Tanizaki, to take a critical look at the colonialist expansionist urge of Western culture. The audience may expect a wild collage of images, bodies, lights, and sounds in which the space itself becomes the principal player. As an abstract, performative concert, MOONSTRUCK will oscillate between eeriness and fulfilment in a peculiar manner.
