Ariel Efraim Ashbel

The Israeli artist Ariel Efraim Ashbel lives and works in Berlin. Since 2000, the theatre director has been busy in his work with the development of interdisciplinary structures that are situated in the gaps between theatre, dance, music, and installation. Additionally, he works as a performer, dramaturge and also occasionally as a lighting designer. He was part of the leading team for “IntimaDance”, a festival for contemporary dance and performance, at Tel Aviv’s Tmuna Theatre between 2008 and 2010. He has been living in Berlin since 2011 and contributed to several projects, some of them at HAU Hebbel am Ufer, HZT Berlin (Uferstudios), at the Berlin Biennale, ausland, Pornfilmfestival Berlin, and at the transmediale festival.
