Billinger & Schulz

Geteilter Abend (SHARED/DIVIDED EVENING)

dance performance Dance Theatre & Performance

The performance by Verena Billinger and Sebastian Schulz deals with sharing in both senses of the word. What connects us, what separates us? How can we communicate with others, especially on stage?
At the beginning of the evening, Verena Billinger is back on stage for the first time in a long time and explores the question of how a biography can be danced. She turns herself into material and tries to catch a glimpse of her life. She invites the audience to experience her relationship to dance and choreography, as well as her place in history and society.

But no person is an island and so relationships are added: the others emerge. Three dancers take over the stage, take up elements of the solo and transform them into a dynamic choreography. They delightfully transform questions of community into joint movements of self-empowerment and loss of control.
Geteilter Abend is a search for traces of the gaps in the narrative, the cracks in one’s own portrait and ruptures in belonging to a group or generation.
