Transitions

Does freedom represent a universal value or does our concept of freedom depend on the circumstances of our lives? Or the phase of life we are in? How can we realise freedom and equality in communities?

Transitions deals with current political liberation movements and the emancipation from inner constraints and boundaries. Young people with immigration biographies perform (auto)fictional stories and dialogue on the topic of freedom. They compress their thoughts and questions into a sound and space installation. Musician and producer Christoph Grothaus and sound artist Niels Bovri, collaborating with the performers, develop a sound installation that will also be shaped by the visitors’ movements, via a sensory system.
