Train Train 1/3 3 is the first instalment of a trilogy in which conceptual artist miu and his allies examine tram networks and their roles for the movement of bodies within urban space. miu is interested in all kinds of networks that often weave invisible connections between moved bodies. Looking at junctions, transit, and guidance systems for people with visual impairments, the question for the organisation of mobility in urban community is posed. How do structures grow, where do they vanish or end, and what are the effects thereof?

miu’s research led to a presentational format that invites audiences to experience the overlapping layers in an urban landscape: The tactile, auditive, and visual elements researched there will be translated into an urban landscape scene at the FFT Düsseldorf Foyer. Here, scenographed shaping and sounds borrowed from public spaces, haptic impressions and artistic audio description coalesce. Three lecturers with different perspectives on urban mobility add substantial impulse. The inclusion of interpreters for French and Japanese expands the sound and space installation with a further level.

『Train Train 1/3』はコンセプトアーティストmiuによるレクチャーサウンドパフォーマンス。都市空間における「様々な身体」のモビリティ(移動性)とそのメカニズムを探究していく三部作『Train Train』の最初の作品となる。デュッセルドルフのトラム路線図、移動する都市空間としてのトラムの車体、視覚障碍者用に設置された誘導システムのフィールドリサーチを基に設計された『Train Train 1/3』の空間は、FFTに移植された「ある街の風景」である。その風景にKristin Schusterによる音声ガイド、そして日本語・フランス語に逐次通訳される３組の講演者の言葉が加わり、都市の内部で移動を続ける様々な身体を、時には視覚では認識できない形で翻訳していく。
