as part of Welcome, Meine Damen und Herren

01.09. – 01.07.2024

The FFT and the inclusive Hamburg theater group Meine Damen und Herren have been friends for many years. Now the FFT has moved to a new location and Meine Damen und Herren have transformed into a collective. It’s time to take our friendship to a new level! With the 2023/24 season, we will begin a two-year collaboration: visiting and learning from each other.

Der Ball (The Ball)

Performance Social/Urban Movements Theatre & Performance

The auditorium has been prepared, the guests take their seats – only the hosts are still missing. The performers from the award-winning inclusive ensemble Meine Damen und Herren are stuck in enchanted rooms – some of them real, some of them virtual. The audience has to free them all for the ball to begin!

Der Ball (The Ball) marks a simultaneous conclusion and a new beginning: Meine Damen und Herren let go of their previous method of working as an ensemble with changing guest directors and transform into a collective. Together, they experiment with the possibilities and opportunities of functioning as equals – even in spaces with a structural power imbalance. Therefore, they develop remarkable artistic tools and new aesthetics.
