PINSKER+BERNHARDT are Janna Pinsker and Wicki Bernhardt. Founded in 2017 at the Institute for Applied Theater Studies in Giessen, the duo combines the lines of postdramatic theater, choreography, and performance for a young audience – a playful-confrontational aesthetic questions practices of exclusion from which (not only) young audiences are denied participation in art. The formal focus of her work: ideas of the human body are projected into objects and spatial arrangements in order to investigate the political coordinates of the body. The duo’s cooperation partners include the FFT Düsseldorf, the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, the Junge Nationaltheater Mannheim and the Hessisches Landestheater Marburg. The duo receives multi-year funding from the city of Frankfurt, and their works have been invited to festivals several times. Their production „Blutige Anfänger*innen“, in which a living theater space plays the main role, was longlisted for the Augenblick Mal! Festival of Theater for Young Audiences 2021.
