Anan Fries

Anan Fries is a digital and performing artist. They are a co-founder of game theatre collective machine eX which is known for its immersive, gamified experiences. Additionally, Anan Fries is a co-founder of Henrike Iglesias, an experimental performance collective with a strong love for pop and politics.

They are interested in queer perspectives at the intersection of digital and performative arts. VIRTUAL WOMBS was created in 2021 as a collaboration with sound artist Malu Peeters, a hybrid between a VR experience and a live performance, as well as [POSTHUMAN WOMBS], a VR essay that was shown at IDFA DocLab, DOK Leipzig, GIFF, and elsewhere.
