Angie Hiesl & Roland Kaiser

War schön. Kann weg... (WAS NICE. PUT IT AWAY)

Alter(n) in der Darstellenden Kunst (Age(ing) in performing arts)

Buchvorstellung, Lesung & Diskussion Talks & Workshops Social/Urban Movements

In 2021, performance artists Angie Hiesl and Roland Kaiser hostet the War schön. Kann weg… Alter(n) in der Darstellen Kunst symposium. Now they collaborated with Almuth Fricke (kubia) on the publication of the eponymous anthology in the form of an augmented documentation with Verlag Theater der Zeit publishers.

Due to our society’s changing age structure, the perspective on “age” itself is also changing. How does age(ing) influence the performing arts? What relation do age and art have with each other? What is the socioeconomic reality and the pension system, and what about adequate funding concepts? Those questions, alongside many more, will be discursively illuminated in this edition, through personal, scientific, and cultural politics text.

The book presentation at the FFT foyer will also involve the reading of the short drama authored by Hannah Zufall and Ariane Koch, which is included in the book. This will be complemented by a panel talk with invited experts from the performing arts as well as from cultural politics.
