Kopergietery

Club Toulouse

Performance Young FFT Theatre & Performance

Do you dare show who you really are? The famous French artist Toulouse-Lautrec captured the flashy and decadent Parisian nightlife of the late 19th century in his paintings. Inspired by the artist’s work and life, Belgian theatre Kopergietery develops a performance that playfully questions conventions with brilliant dances, pop, and show magic. Powerful and vulnerable at the same time, theatre makers Roman Van Houtven and Marieke Dermul immerse themselves on stage, in the hinterland of fashion, nightlife, and emotional hunger. Club Toulouse is a highly visual and vibrant show for young people. It attempts to uncover the answers to questions about gold-glitter-stereotypes-extravagance-genderfluid-pigeonholing-profiling-status symbols.
