SPIELARTEN Festival annually presents the wide scope of independent theatre for young audiences from North Rhine-Westphalia. With the 2025 festival edition, children, youths, school classes and families can experience contemporary drama, dance, and performance for different age groups at the FFT.

SPIELARTEN again brings a week full of theatre, dance, and performance for a young audience to the stage in 2025! The proceedings will kick off with the performance Was für ein (schönes) Chaos (8+), giving insight into a head full of wild thoughts. With in liebe (14+) and Mädchenschrift (13+), we will show you two productions that negotiate the topics of sexism and self-determination impressively and in an age-appropriate manner. Chiffonade (3+) invites the youngest to witness a dancer’s transformation live on stage. At the conclusion, it will get loud: Fighters for Future (8+) calls for protest and asks the question what young engagement in the fight against climate change could look like.
