WORK IN PROGRESS

Tanztheater Young FFT Dance

What do you want to be when you grow up?

A group of young people looks ahead, into the future. What are their thoughts when they are thinking about work? Is it the fulfilment of their dreams, something or other with an office, about getting up early, being grown up, or nothing specific at all? Work interferes into our lives at an early stage, confronting us with questions to which we might not yet have an answer. A process of orientation and self-optimisation has already been set in motion at school. But what is the situation in theatre like? Is it an exception, or do the same rules apply, as they do in all other spheres of life? Does the theatre not create product that is sold and bought? What happens when creative processes encounter market economy structures? And what would a choreographed burger from the fast dance snack stall even look like?

Artist duo Elbers/Zhukov develops a new dance theatre staging about work with a group of youths.
