Young people in Bundeswehr uniforms smile at us from billboards in city centers. We need you. We’re looking for you—yes, you! With WE NEED YOU, the artist duo Elbers/Zhukov, together with young performers, explores the impact of images and narratives about the military in everyday life. Through dance and theater, the subtle mechanisms used to appeal to young people are reflected upon. WE NEED YOU examines how political narratives are inscribed in bodies, gestures, and a sense of community—and what it means when recruitment rhetoric becomes everyday language.
