Shaky Boards and Rolling Platforms
with scenographer Doris Dziersk
Workshop + Discussion Talks & Workshops Social/Urban Movements
On their imaginary journey to bring ecological matters back into – artistic – focus, the Argonause explores their home port: The theatre and, especially, the facilities – that what constitutes stage design and costuming.
Internationally active artist and scenographer Doris Dziersk probes material and the ideas behind them. A workshop that is open to all and a discussion with guests will revolve around what the share of stage designs in a theatre’s climate footprint is. How efficiently must they be designed? Do stage designers continually need to reinvent everything, throwing away that which was shaped beforehand in order to successfully market their artistic signature? What potential lies in that which is present at many venues, such as standardised platform systems? What to do when the unecological material is aesthetically more pleasing, more complex, better fitting artistically? Every room brings a multitude of qualities and information. How can they be utilised and employed effectively?
