Loving the Aliens
Performance Digital Culture Theatre & Performance
Aliens are pop culture celebrities. In science, they are considered the epitome of maximum strangeness. Choreographic duo Spaniol Nardi explores the question of how we deal with the unknown through what-if scenarios. What happens when people meet a non-human counterpart? Who will speak for humanity? The United Nations? Tech billionaires?
The performance begins out in the open air in preparation for the first contact with an unknown species. Afterwards, the audience dives into an immersive space and goes on a journey oscillating between irritation, realisation, and curiosity. The play is an invitation to examine one’s own perspective. Are we willing to look in the mirror to find our own in that which is foreign?
