Künstlerische Deradikalisierungsstrategien auf Social Media

(Artistic Strategies in Deradicalisation on Social Media)

Workshop Digital Culture Talks & Workshops
Four people stand side by side in front of a dark background. They are mostly dressed in black and have their arms loosely around each other.

Social media platforms are the largest contemporary theatre space, according to the onlinetheater.live group. Why are right-wing extremists, antifeminists and masculinists so influential on these platforms? And what can we do to oppose them?

This workshop is about demographics, language, video aesthetics, and storytelling. As an example, the participants hack into the TikTok “manosphere”, a misogynist bubble where men teach each other to swallow their emotions. To do this, they create content with little effort, aimed at the same target groups, showing them mindfulness towards their own feelings, imparting impulses to contemplate and to act.

The onlinetheater.live group, as part of their MYKE – Hacking the Manosphere production, created a three-month campaign on TikTok according to this strategy. The artists would like to share their experiences and ideas, improve, talk, and inspire emulation.
