FFT Cubes
Playtest Digital Culture Talks & WorkshopsAn FFT Cube is exactly that, a cube of about 80 × 80 × 80 centimetres, with a monitor as its uppermost surface. Move the FFT Cube in space, turn it to the left, to the right, up or down, and the images and videos shown on the monitor change. The cubes contain gaming propositions, jointly developed by artists, children, and youths, aimed at smaller or lager groups of young people. The idea for the cubes emerged during the “Das Digitale Foyer” project, within which the FFT experiments with digital applications for audience communication. Artists Sarah Fartuun Heinze and Sebastian Schlemminger developed the FFT Cubes together with Hochschule Düsseldorf (MIREVI).
Visitors can try out the first game developed for the cubes in this playtest: The “Performance-Bot” – a gigantic performance puzzle for the FFT Foyer.
