Dirty Laundry

A cruise ship as a micro universe version of the current capitalist world: The upper decks display surplus opulence, where uninhibited consumerism rages. At the same time, an almost invisible group of people cleans and cooks under extreme conditions, entertaining the clientele. Yet something is afoot – in the laundry, on one of the lower decks, the workers celebrate a party of the exploited, making the cruiser burst, thereby shaking the conventional rules.

Dirty Laundry looks at the history of social movements that campaigned for a free and just world. Bold and radical ideas were widespread. It is eminently important to recall this knowledge today, in the face of the capitalist catastrophe. Away from a patriarchal history of civilisation, Nicoleta Esinencu & teatru-spălătorie, with a powerful text and sound collage, suggest a world that refers to social future potential.
