Workshop, Performance, Talks Talks & Workshops Theatre & Performance
Bochum-based kainkollektiv explored the phenomenon of care work during the past several years. Together with their international partners, Inter Alia (Greece) and Fundacja Performat (Poland), they invite us to a transnational, performative conference. Artists, activists and European communities come together to renegotiate care as an artistic, political and social practice. Experts such as cultural theoretician Elke Krasny, artist and activist Joulia Strauss and author and curator Kasia Wojcek and local organisations, too, share their care practices and invite their audiences to contribute their own experiences, questions, and visions. In conversation, workshops, performances, rituals, and music, a Constitution of Care will take shape over the whole weekend – not a constitution as a binding legal document but rather a living manifesto of voices, memories and care practices.

kainkollektiv develops international music, theatre, and performance projects at the crossroads between art, care work, and transnational communities. Inter Alia works from Athen’s Exarchia quarter and connects artistic practice with cultural education and political activism. Fundacja Performat is a Warsaw-based curator’s platform for contemporary performance, choreography, and experimental artistic research with a strong focus on social and political issues.
In the EU project European Schools of Care, they channel their approaches and explore care as an artistic, social, and political practice – in local contexts and transnational exchange formats. In addition to these three collectives, more international artists and guests with various inputs are expected to contribute.
