Three Songs, Three Dishes
Dinner Performance Theatre & Performance
A Slovakian dinner invitation, a multilingual concert, a space for mourning, presence, community and delicious food.
“BRUCHOVRAVY” is a feast with musical compositions that combines the experience of good food with the discursive or poetic characteristics of contemporary art; it is initiated and directed by visual artist Dávid Koronczi. The title is a Slovak neologism that could perhaps be translated as “gut talks”. The project has been running since 2021 and unfurls in a different way in each location. In the Düsseldorf edition the space is given over to the traditions of funeral meals: a communal farewell to the world as we know it in three compositions, three dishes, three shared moments. The concert is multilingual – English, German, Hungarian, Slovak, Latin – and each song by opera singer Adriána Vančová, a.k.a. timmi, introduces the next course, which, like the musical works, are composed specially for the show by young head chef Pavol Žiška. What remains is a temporary community, convened in song and in the silence between courses. At the same time, aspects of transformation such as fermentation and composting appear as subtle metaphors for change – fragile processes in which decay and renewal coexist.

*Dávid Koronczi*(*1990) is an interdisciplinary artist and the assistant of Martin Piaček at Studio vvv, Department of Intermedia at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. In both his artistic work and doctoral research, he explores the intersection of growing, cooking and eating with artistic strategies, including the creation of objects, audiovisual works, and storytelling. His works and performances were shown at Taipei Biennal, Oerol Festival, Kunsthalle Košice, Slovak National Gallery, LONGTERMHANDSTAND Hall Budapest, Hellerau Dresden and others. He lives with his partner, a project manager and aspiring veggie grower Martina Szabóová and their daughter in the city of Lučenec and village of Ratka, south Slovakia.
Pavol Žiška (*1994) is a chef focusing on experiential vegetarian cuisine. Alongside cooking, he is currently developing a vertical farm dedicated to growing edible and medicinal mushrooms as well as microgreens. His passion for cooking began in childhood with his grandmother and later deepened through professional experiences in Bratislava, Prague, and Bergen.
Music producer Adriana Morn (Adriana Vančová, aka timmi) works as a solo artist and in collaborations. Some foundations of her work are derived from sacral music, from which she draws inspiration, creating modified parts she converts into vocals or keyboard riffs. She uses layered vocals anchored in her classically trained voice, translated into harmonies and micro tonalities typical for her expression. Synthesizers and keyboard instruments play an important part; early releases feature hardware generated dense drone tones with noise, piano, spoken word and vocals. Characteristic is the overlapping of abstract sound elements with crystalline synth or piano sounds and field recordings. Her debut „Theosis“ (2023) appeared on Stoned to Death and Řehole; further releases include „Prah“ (Warm Winters). Her music also appeared on NTS and KIOSK radio, and others.
