Apollon
Stop tryna be God
Performance for all 14 and over Young FFT Theatre & Performance
The Greek god Apollon is the deity of art, prophecy, and healing. He embodies a radiant aesthetic ideal as well as an ambivalent figure set between order and destruction. Apollo has also served as a symbol for masculinity since antiquity. What traces did he leave in our image of masculinity? Is he still a beacon for a young generation? Waltraud900, together with a male-read ensemble of performers aged between 15 and 20 explores which imagery and stories shaped masculinity throughout history. They scrutinise their own definition of “masculine heritage” while seeking for new role models. Following the award-winning “Daughters of the Future”, Apollon asks: Where are the sons of the future headed, and which questions come to accompany them?
