Cooperativa Maura Morales
Cooperativa Maura Morales is one of the few contemporary North Rhine-Westphalian dance companies that has succeeded to consolidate the emphasis of their artistic creation in North Rhine-Westphalia for many years now while also continuously expanding their national and, especially, their international reach. The high impact potential displayed by the Cooperativa Maura Morales is clearly evident in, among other things, their avid national and international touring activities of up to 50 guest performances a year, in Tanzania, Brazil, Korea, Panama, the Dominican Republic, La Réunion, Macedonia, Russia, and throughout Europe, with almost 1,000 invitations to auditions, invitations for guest choreographies at municipal and state theatres and for other ensembles as well as an unceasing demand for mentoring activities for students from a variety of academies and schools. Also, being granted the three-year Conceptional Support awarded by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia as well as the three-year Conceptional Support awarded by the Fonds Darstellende Künste, alongside numerous prizes and awards such as the 2013 Kurt-Jooss-Prize, are evidence to the high artistic and professional qualities displayed by the Cooperativa.
