Verena Billinger & Sebastian Schulz
Verena Billinger & Sebastian Schulz deal with society and the public sphere. For their artistic modelling and staging, they focus on the role of the body. They perceive its movements as vectors and vital signs. Trade publication tanz designated the duo “Great Hopes in Dance” in their 2015 yearbook, and they have, among other things, received an invitation to the renowned Tanzplattform Deutschland. Their most recent guest stint at the FFT was with their “UNLIKELY CREATURES” trilogy, in which they already distinguished themselves to be experts for exceptional scenic arrangements, improbable creatures, and an exhaustive dealing with strongly divergent body images. Their works are created in coproduction with the FFT Düsseldorf and Künstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt am Main. So far, they have been presenting in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Bulgaria, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Sweden, Slovakia, South Korea, Thailand, and the US.
