Schwabinggrad Ballett

activist-artistic collective

The Schwabinggrad Ballet is an activist-artistic collective from Hamburg, which was founded at the turn of the millennium to produce unexpected situations beyond ritualized left-wing forms of protest.

Schwabinggrad Ballet combines in its name the memory of the greatest defeat of the Nazis and the first bohemian street musician riots of the republic. It is an open collective and part of a network that runs, among other things, the Hamburg Buttclub. Discussions, readings, exhibitions, concerts, reading groups and actions are organized there.

Schwabinggrad Ballett is a mobile task force of musicians and non-musicians, political activists and artists that emerged from a Hamburg debating circle called Buttclub. A band for anti-cyclical processions in support of subversive activities.
