Ben J. Riepe

Choreographer, Artist

Ben J. Riepe, born in 1979, is a choreographer, visual artist and initiator of the FREIRAUM, an interdisciplinary conceptual and work space for the arts and sciences, attempting a collaborative, non-curated mode of work. Following his studies of stage dance and choreography at the Folkwang University of the Arts, Riepe held engagements as a dancer at Pina Bausch’s and V.A. Wölfl’s companies as well as elsewhere. He has been creating his own works since 2008, bringing dance into multilayered connections with other disciplines. His multiple-award-winning performances, videos, and digital productions are being shown around the world, often as collaborations with the Goethe-Institute or by invitation from other companies.
